Get AI help while you write a lesson
The lesson composer can ask an AI model for a first draft. You stay the author: every answer lands as a draft block that you edit, keep or throw away.
Goal
By the end you have added an AI outline to a lesson, kept the parts that fit, and linked the goals the lesson covers.
Prerequisites
- Your school runs Hermiq next to Learniq, and an administrator switched on the lesson authoring feature there. Hermiq ships it switched off. The privacy officer has to agree before an administrator can switch it on.
- The lesson has content type text, so its body is made of blocks.
- For goal suggestions: the course or the lesson has goals linked to it.
Without Hermiq you see no AI help at all. When Hermiq answers that the feature is off, the panel shows a short note instead of the buttons.
What leaves Learniq
Only the lesson text and the titles of the goals go to the AI model. Learniq sends no pupil data and no ids. You decide what the lesson text says, so do not put pupil names or other pupil data in it. The first time you use the AI help, a dialog asks you to confirm this.
Steps
- Open a course in the course builder and open a lesson with Compose.
- Scroll to AI help under the blocks.
- Pick one or more goals, or type a goal in your own words. Choose Draft an outline. After a few seconds a block marked AI draft appears at the end of the lesson. It names the model service that wrote it.
- Edit the draft in place. Choose Keep to turn it into an ordinary text block, or Discard to remove it.
- With some lesson text in place, choose Suggest questions. The questions arrive as one numbered draft block.
- To make a text easier to read, pick a reading level in the panel (A1 to B2, or 1F to 3F) and use the rewrite button on that text block. The simpler version lands right below the original, so you can compare the two.
- Choose Suggest goals. The AI model picks from the course and lesson goals only, never a goal of its own. Choose Add next to each goal that fits.
- Choose Save lesson. Learniq refuses to save while an AI draft is still waiting for Keep or Discard.
Good to know
- The AI help changes lesson text only. It never places a pupil in a level or a group.
- A local model can take tens of seconds. The button shows that it is busy.
- "Too many requests" means you hit the limit of 30 calls a minute. Wait a minute and try again.
